Best things to do in Ukiah on Sunday
If you're in Ukiah, it's a Sunday and you're a little bit bored, I have the perfect itinerary for you and so get your hiking and your fancy boots because we're going all throughout the town on a lovely adventure that's going to take you into some of Ukiah's most prized gems and i'm super excited to take you through my ideal Sunday in Ukiah. So, let's get into it!
Hi, my name is Kasie Gray, I'm a broker associate in Ukiah, California and I specialize in helping sellers buy homes. And today I'm going to be talking to you about what to do in Ukiah on a Sunday because it is very limited but anyways, without further ado.
Let's wake up in the morning. If you wake up early enough you might be able to catch a sunrise at the "U". It's not like you're really supposed to go there because it's kind of trespassing. It is a spectacular view and in the morning is when I like to go because it's not too hot yet. I did post a tutorial on how to get there on my TikTok. So go watch it. I mean I didn't.
So, after your hike to the unknown landmark in town or if you're just taking the city view trails, you're gonna head over to Ellie's Hut for some breakfast. One of my favorite breakfasts in town. I love their french toast and their bacon is delicious and they also have a specialty called johnny cakes which is like a pancake slash I don't know what kind of mixture and they'll put powdered sugar and strawberries on it and it's just delightful.
And if you're into delicious beverages, they also have mimosas and um chai shakes and mocha shakes which are my favorites and then next we're gonna go swimming at Ukiah Valley Athletic Club. They have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. So no matter what time of day it is, it is always comfortable there and they even have a hot tub so you can go and relax those bones from your long hike and the pools are wonderful temperatures. They're sea salt and they are just one of my favorite things to do for fun. If you don't have a gym membership, you can pay a day pass but I highly recommend a day a membership for the whole entire family because it really makes those summer days go by quick. If you don't have a pool and it's wonderful they serve beverages they serve snacks and just a wonderful place to hang out.
Next up, is lunch at Ukiah Brewing Company. They have one of my favorite pizzas in town but they also have some delicious sweet potato fries you do have to order by QR code or up at the counter. But if you're also into a beer, they brew their own beer there and they have a ton of different options flight decks. They also have a full bar and a ton of delicious food and one of the only downtown restaurants that is actually open on Sundays, so it is usually popping in there. They usually have a band or some sort of musician and it is a delight to go to on a Sunday. You can even sit outside if it's a nice day and enjoy the fresh share.
Next, up on the list is heading over to a Todd Grove Park to play at the playground whether you're have children and want to just visit the park or do some walking around. Or if you don't have kids, I highly recommend just hanging out at the golf course they have a full bar there they have a golf course that you can play holes at and then they have like a little putting at range that or in like a little batting cage hitting cage. What do you call that? I don't know. So, those are the two places that I recommend for a little afternoon hangout. Text your friends if you're in town or if you live here you can always text your friends and let them know you're going to the park and i'm sure they'd love to meet you there.
And then, after that you're going to go cool off for a little tasty treat either at Slush by the Park which is right next to Todd Grove Park or at utop it which is downtown Ukiah. Both have wonderful ice cream options slush by the park has slush and soft serve and you can do a little mixing match and they have a nice little indoor seating area which is lovely space to hang out. They have a tv you could throw on some cocomelon for the kids, if that's your style. And utopia is downtown and delicious and they have ice cream from cowlex. Hopefully by the time this video is up they will have their froyo machines running.
And then after that, you're going to a dinner at the Broiler. And this is the most important thing to do on a Sunday. It is like going to church but better because there's soup you have to go to the broiler for dinner at least one Sunday in your life - to get their minestrone. It's like all their leftovers from the rest of the week and I, myself, personally and don't like beans and I barely like soup, but I will eat about 16 bowls of that soup if they were to give it to me that parmesan and the crackers and the bread. It just is delightful and the best thing since sliced bread and parmesan.
After that, you're gonna go to the movies if you can drop the kids off with a relative or babysitter. Then do that and watch some rated R movie. Otherwise, take your kids go watch a family-friendly movie. Don't forget to go to the gas station before you go in to grab some snacks but they do now serve alcohol at the movie theater. If you weren't aware for some reason we still have the old crusty seats and not the reclining seats. So maybe we should start a change.org form to get that upgraded soon because I'm tired of going to Santa Rosa for that nonetheless that was a busy day and I don't want to hear, "oh Kasie! it can't be done". Because last Friday, me and my child, we woke up, we went to a hike to the "U", to an unknown landmark in town, and we did that at 8:30. We were done, we went home. we took a nap, we got ready, we went to the park, met up with some friends, we went home, took another nap, we went to namaste for a smoothie, and where do we go for breakfast. We had breakfast at home, I think and then we went for namaste for a smoothie at lunch, and then we went to the park and took a rest then we went to Ukiah Valley Athletic Club and went swimming with our friends. Then we went home, and had some chipotle for dinner. So, the only thing that I didn't do on that list was go to the Broiler but it wasn't Sunday, so it wasn't required, and go to the movies but I definitely could have already been. I would have been willing and able to have there been a good movie ready to play but anyways, all I'm saying is you don't need an event to go do something. You don't need somebody to go do something with if you do then reach out to your friends because I'm sure that they would love to hang out with you and i'm sure they're sitting at home bored as well
