Thrifting at JBF North Bay: My Haul & Honest Review! | WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT?!

by Kasie Gray

This morning, we are heading to JBF North Bay in Santa Rosa. It's the largest consignment sale in the area. JBF stands for Just Between Friends. Whether you're a mom, caretaker, or someone with baby clothes to consign, you can participate. You'll need to tag, price, and sort your clothes. After dropping off the items, they'll be put on the racks for sale. Admission is free if you buy tickets online; otherwise, it costs a few dollars at the door. They also have half-off deals in the afternoons or on Sundays. The schedule is usually posted on their website. This is our first time going, and we're excited to see what it's like. I'll take some videos inside and share a haul of what we got.

Well, I went to JBF, and I'm going to share my thoughts and show you everything I got. I'll also tell you the prices because one thing that surprised me so much was the prices. I'm in a Facebook group where the consigners discuss what they're going to do. I signed up to be a consignee and wanted more information. I will say the prices were a lot higher than I thought they would be, and maybe I'm just cheap, but I don't want to pay full price for something that's already been used and has stains on it. There were a lot more things with stains on them than I would have liked to see. Anyway, this is a Rapunzel bow and arrow set that has been on my list to get my daughter for a long time, and it was $10, so normally it's like $16. So I'm just going to run through it and just say the prices. Each consigner that drops their stuff off at JBF, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they put the things on the hangers, so they're all safety-pinned to the hangers, and then sometimes they're tagged or sometimes they are safety-pinned like the price sheet, so they're all different. The person who's dropping it off decides what to call it and how to price it, so I don't like that I'm going to now have to take these safety pins off every single one of these, but it is what it is. I can't imagine doing it. That's why I signed up to be a consigner, and I was like, "Oh, you have to do all that work? I'm good." Because this was $2, cute little shirt. This dress was $8, and it's fleece-lined, so it's nice quality for sure. I don't know the brand. This brand is Kez. I don't know, probably Chinese.

Change off, and then some stuff is kind of hung up like this, so then it gets all bunched up weird in other spots. This was $4, these little pants have some butterfly detail. This set was $5, and it is from Zara. No, this set was $5, and it's H&M. These pants are Cat and Jack, and they were $5. I thought they were like two. This dress was $2, and it's Bur Bee's. This one's just like a vintage bodysuit, and it was $4 in shimmery. This is an Old Navy short set for $3. $6, $3 in my head for each thing, and some biker shorts. Honestly, I haven't put all the Fourth of July stuff aside because I just don't think the Fourth of July is going to be the whole month. This swimsuit was $4, the cheapest swimsuit that I saw, and there were a couple that I had pulled out, but they had stains and were over $8, so I wasn't going to buy them. We have this in a smaller size so the girls can do some too. This dress was $5, and it comes with some shorts. The brand is Art Class, just from Target. These are Zara shorts, and they were $8. This is an Old Navy shacket, and it was $15. You know, I'm having major regrets coming through this again with the whole price situation. I mean, I feel fine for like what I spent and how much I got, I guess. This dress was $7, it's Baby Gap and has some cute little detail down there. The shirt was $3. I said I was saving the American stuff. This is a little dress for $3 and some shorts. This little two-piece set was $3.50, these shorts were $3.50, and this was $2, it's very cute. This swimsuit was $5, look how cute that is. This little set was $5, got a little pocket on the butt. Three-pack of sleepers was $9. I only wanted this front one, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have an extra couple more swimsuits. Look at this one, ID $6, this one we have in a smaller size too, and it was $6. And then I got some swim diapers for $4, so $2 each. This little sweater dress was so cute, it's from Zara and it says the funniest. I got a couple of just Easter plates, they were $1 each, which I thought was fine, so it lasts forever and it's cheaper than the dollar store if I were to buy new ones. And then I got a Bluey for the Easter basket. It's Easter time right now. And then the shoes were very rundown, I will say that I don't know if people just picked up over them or what, but then this bag was two packs of shoes for $7, and these little leather-type deals were cute. And then these strawberry sandals have a hook on them, so that was fine. And then I don't know if I just think it's going to be July forever, but I got them so many Fourth of July outfits.

Okay, so first up, this one is so cute, and it was $8. Even without this little sweater thing on, it's adorable. And then this little set, it's a skirt and the shirt says "cute cute". This little dress is just adorable, $6. This dress was $5, and then this shirt was $3. It was fun. I don't know that I would have the desire to pay money to go in and shop. Like, I don't think the deals are that good. The toys were so expensive, in my opinion, especially considering how fast kids go through toys and things like that. I just did not think that they were affordable or priced to sell. There were little dolls that were not in good condition for like $20 a bag, and I understand, yes, they are expensive to purchase new, they are not new, and so that's my main thing. And a lot of the baby toys that have sounds and things, were all like $12. The puzzles were expensive. I think if it's your first kid and it's the first time you're buying things, it might be a good resource. I would just say if you're selling things sell them for cheaper so that they sell, versus having to sell half off later down the line. I don't know I am too lazy to sell, so I can't say too much, I guess. But I think it was organized well. If you purchase your ticket online it's free, depending on the day that you go. I got some cute stuff for sure. Did I need any of it? No, not at all. But that's kind of my thoughts on it. It is in Santa Rosa at the Santa Rosa Fairground, so about an hour from Paa. I'm blinking after looking at the prices that I spent. It's okay, it all worked out, I think. I mean, I got a lot of pieces for sure. Thank you for watching, and make sure to follow me on Instagram, I'll post when the next one is. And if anyone wants to tag my stuff to be dropped off at the Consignment sale, you give me a call. Thanks!
