Buying a Home This Spring in Ukiah! | Ukiah Real Estate | Plus Bonus Tips!
Did you know that spring is the peak buying season with almost over 40 percent of purchases happening between the months of March and June? Well, if you didn't, and you're thinking of buying a house in any of those months, here are all of my tips to help get you and your offer accepted and help with your home search this spring season! So let's get into it!
Hi, my name is Kasie Gray, I am a realtor and a mom, and I love helping people love their life with living in Ukiah. I love helping first-time home sellers find their dream home, you know, that bigger upgrade that you were hoping you would get once you bought that house five years ago with only one kid, and since then you've had a few more. If that sounds like you, I am the girl for you but let's get into buying a house in the spring and some of my most helpful tips to help make sure you won't be homeless this summer.
So tip number one is to be ready and to act fast you must have a pre-approval you must have all your ducks in a row and be ready to go make an offer if that perfect house that you love comes on the market.
Number two, be prepared to make a strong offer. Sometimes this means price, sometimes it means a higher earnest money deposit, and sometimes it means shorter contingencies. These are all things considered when making an offer and things that your realtor can advise you on and that they're going to change dependent on the property. What the seller's needs are and what they're looking for.
Tip number three is to be flexible. The more flexible you are, obviously, the more options you have. Whether you're open to considering different neighborhoods, or different floor plans.
Having a wants list and a needs list is super imperative to your home search. Certain things are non-negotiable and other things can be a maybe they can come later. Some people want to walk into a house with marble countertops but the likelihood of finding a house in Ukiah that is move-in ready with marble countertops is very slim. So if that's where you're searching for a house, I would advise you to probably put that on your wants list and then go in and put those in after but a few things on your needs list could be like three bedrooms, two living rooms whatever. That criteria are for your family.
I am more than happy to help you explore that and that's one of the things that you'll start to see the more homes that you see. You'll be able to figure out what really is on your wants list and what really is on your needs list.
I love helping clients come out on top in a bidding war. So the sooner that we can start preparing for your dream home, the better. If you have any questions about buying a house this spring, feel free to reach out or get my guide to home buying!
